Why do I need a Home Inspection?

A home inspection is important part of your home purchase. It will help you to understand how the home components function. While no inspection is typical a good inspection will last anywhere from 2 to 4 hours depending on the size of the home.

When Do I call a Home Inspector?

In NY a home inspection is conducted after you have an accepted offer and before the contracts are signed.

Do I have to be at the Inspection?

It is highly recommended to be at the home inspection and follow along with the inspectior. It is encouraged to ask questions and point out things you may be curious about. You will receive a complete digital report with photos of potential problems as well as components that are in good condition.

What if there are problems with the home?

While no house is perfect, If a problem is detected it doesn’t necessarily mean you shouldn’t proceed with the purchase. It will just give you an educated analysis of the condition of the home and what you might need to address after the purchase. You will be in better position to renegotiate the purchase price based on the cost of these repairs.
